UNHCR Fact Sheet: North of Central America Situation

August, 2020.- Around 470,000 refugees and asylum-seekers from the North of Central America in the world and 318,590 internally displaced people in Honduras and El Salvador. Contributions of the UNHCR include strengthening the inclusion of refugee and asylum-seeking children within the national child protection system in Guatemala, providing psychological self-care sessions to teachers in Honduras, and identifying the protection needs of deportees at airports in El Salvador, among others.
