In Nicaragua, the social crisis generated by state repression, beginning with the April 2018 demonstrations, has resulted in the forced displacement of thousands of people in need of international protection or internal displacement. In this section we present information and resources on the context of human mobility in Nicaragua.

In Nicaragua, the social crisis generated by the state repression, since the demonstrations of April 2018, has generated a constant violation of human rights. As a result, thousands of Nicaraguan people have suffered from forced displacement, in particular they have been forced to seek international protection or to move internally. In addition, the lack of access to information exacerbates the human rights crisis because it hinders comprehensive monitoring of violations.

In this country report we present the context of human mobility in Nicaragua and the main challenges for the defense of the rights of the population.
