Panama is a destination and transit country for people on the move in the Mesoamerican region. The problems related to corruption, the political and institutional crisis faced by some Panamanian entities, as well as the actions of the government, have perpetuated the criminalization of migration and the absence of comprehensive responses from the authorities. This has resulted in a serious situation in terms of human rights guarantees for people on the move. 

In this country report we present the context of human mobility in Panama and the main challenges for the defense of the rights of the population.
